The super slide was a fun project. It was a little simpler to do, since there wasn't a couch there. However, once I started ripping the benches out, I realized that there was damage to the wall and sub flooring that needed to be repaired. The left bench had been hiding the damage, so I'm grateful I took it out.
Thankfully we were able to have someone repair the damage before proceeding, it just took patience on my end...because I wanted it done and done now! haha However, we kept running into issues that made it drag out. However, everything timed out perfectly in the end.
Once the repairs were made to the wall and floor, I was able to start the painting process. I also wired lights with a toggle switch and then installed the lights. I had never done electrical before, so it was an amazing moment when I turned on the power and the lights came on. It was just a little reminder that things do really come together if you just keep putting one foot in front of another.
Fun fact: did you know that you can use any fixture you want in an RV, you just need a 12v lightblub for the fixture to work?
One thing I debated on for a while in the super slide was taking out the overhead cabinets, however I am so so glad that I did. It really opens the space up. Then I installed super cute baskets that are way more functional and just as much storage as the bulky cabinets.
I hung curtains, and installed roller shades. Grabbed a table and two chairs (because I had the bench for the other side), a couch, rug and in table to complete the space.
One more thing I added in this space was a shoe shelf from IKEA. and I did not add it to store shoes haha I actually added it into the space because it gave us storage, storage that is thin. It can be used for tons of things, I currently have books and random RV papers in there.
Making the Bench:
When I took the original benches out of the slide, I saved them. I knew I wanted to use the pieces from the original benches to make an updated bench for the renovated camper.
I started by learning how to use a saw lol but once I learned that, I cut the bench down to the correct length. I started hammering pieces together until it looked like a bench again.
Once the structure was together, I primed and painted the bench. I was even able to repurpose the old cushion and sew a new cover for it.

(Updated bench)
The bench gives us storage that we can access from the inside and the outside of our camper.
