Rest
It means different things to different people.
Mental. Physical. Spiritual. Emotional.
If I’m honest, I’m bad at all forms of rest. I do not like to stop. I do not like to sit still and wait. I do not like to trust God.
The first step in correcting a problem is admitting you have a problem, right?! So I can honestly say I’m working on learning how to rest.
I’ve been thinking of rest often these days. Trying to figure out how to do it. What it looks like and so on.
Rest is something we need to do. For lots of reasons. Even God rested after He created the world.
Webster defines rest as:
: REPOSE, SLEEP
specifically : a bodily state characterized by minimal functional and metabolic activities
2a: freedom from activity or labor b: a state of motionlessness or inactivity c: the repose of death
3: a place for resting or lodging
4: peace of mind or spirit
5a (1): a rhythmic silence in music
(2): a character representing such a silence
b: a brief pause in reading
6: something used for support .
. How do you like to rest? What area of rest do you need to work on the most?
